The time has come to name our shooting annex, but we need your help. If you have an idea for a catchy name, send it via email to Thunder Wolf. You have two weeks, until August 8, to send in your idea. We will then make a selection of the twelve most interesting names and set up a poll on the site to let you decide the final name. The author of the winning name will earn braggin' rights to naming the annex!

How many of us have wondered who's who amongst our fellow shooters? Well, wonder no more, the printing press has made its way to town and we can now issue posters. Yes, you will now be able to put a name on that face you keep seeing on the street or in a dance hall or saloon in some dusty town.

As a side note, if any of you would like to have an 8" x 10" print of your mugshot, send me an email.

For those whose picture has been taken, I need your tagline in order to complete the mugshot. For the others, don't worry, I'll be there at our shoot in August, road conditions and weather permitting.

Howdy, Folks!

Mother Nature must like Cowboy Action Shooting as she gave us beautiful sunshine and light winds for our July Summer Heat match on July 18th.

We had 26 enthusiastic gunhands that competed in four challenging stages. Diablo Cummings made the long trek again to join us, the Trestle Valley Rangers were represented by Doc Hell, and Trail Driver jumped the border again and brought Dakota Nailbender and Dakota Woodbutcher along. I hear they were willing accomplices. And, of course, the Dakota RoughRiders turned out in great numbers. Thank you all!

Competitors were thrilled (well maybe that's not exactly the right word) to find the Texas Star waiting for them on the last stage. This was the first time the DRR ever offered this target and as only a handful of the shooters had ever encountered it before, we tried to make it as painless as possible.

I thought everyone did a great job on it.

I even got one compliment on the stages and match. It was overwhelming.

It was a fine day of shooting and when the dust settled, CC Lakota was the overall winner. Great shootin', CC!

We had five shooters ring steel with every shot with no procedurals and no penalties. Congratulations go out to CC Lakota, Pistolero Shay, Diablo Cummings, Dakota Rattler and Doc Hell. That was some fine shooting, gentlemen.

Well, our next match will be held on Sunday, August 22nd. Registration starts at noon.

Pistolero Shay will again be offering a "Wild Bunch" stage after the main match for those who would like to give this a try.
